A medical screening campaign and awareness events were organized at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) within the framework of the “Target 130/80” project, initiated by the Azerbaijan Society of Cardiology (ASC). The project was implemented through joint collaboration between ASC, the Public Health and Reforms Center of the Ministry of Health, and Servier Azerbaijan.
Speakers at the event, including ASC President Yasmin Rustamova, ANAS Vice-President Irada Huseynova, Deputy Director of the Public Health and Reforms Center Gahraman Hagverdiyev, and Project Leader Ulvi Mirzoyev, emphasized the importance of the project, highlighting the critical role of early diagnosis, regular medical check-ups, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in the prevention of non-communicable diseases.
It was noted that the “Target 130/80” project aims to ensure the early detection of arterial hypertension, reduce risk factors, and promote a preventive approach among the population. The screenings and awareness activities conducted within the project contribute to encouraging individuals to take greater responsibility for their health.
Following the official part, the medical screening campaign commenced. Within the framework of the campaign, ANAS employees had their blood pressure measured, their cardiovascular systems assessed, and received personalized medical advice.
It should be noted that the medical screening campaign organized within the “Target 130/80” project lasted for three days.
